26 June 2018
After 3 years of waiting, on 1st of April 2018 a new Agreement on Social Security came into force, this time between the Republic of Hungary and Turkey.
Main purpose of these international agreements is to avoid double taxation. Furthermore, in many cases they clarify the social security consequences of foreign employment, for example how the length of service should be calculated.
The agreement with Turkey clarifies a number of employment issues, for example directives about assignments or calculating insurance period. It is suggested to pay high attention to this issue for companies which are related to assignments to/from Turkey.
